Serliana

Serliana pairs a calm, contemporary dining room just off Monument Circle with all-day dining and French-inspired dinners. Start with the Boursin omelette or çilbir that breakfast diners praise, alongside Hubbard & Cravens coffee.

Serliana
Serliana

On the second floor of the InterContinental Indianapolis in Mile Square, Serliana offers a quieter setting for a downtown meal. Diners repeatedly praise the contemporary room: white and earth tones, retro seating and tall plants, with a Calacatta marble bar anchoring the space. The atmosphere earns more consistent enthusiasm than the food and service, which draw mixed reports.

Breakfast offers the clearest ordering leads from diners, including çilbir, a creamy French-style house omelette and an omelette with Boursin. Açaí chia seed pudding earns praise for restrained sweetness. The restaurant serves espresso drinks from local Hubbard & Cravens and teas from Palais des Thés; brunch cocktails offer another direction at the bar.

Executive chef Craig Baker oversees a kitchen whose evening focus is seasonal, French-inspired cooking. Among the dishes diners describe is a farro bowl with beets, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, red onion, croutons, sunflower seeds and minted yogurt sauce, ordered with salmon. The weekly schedule adds its own reasons to settle in: Monday and Tuesday specials include $1 oysters and half-off cocktails, Friday jazz starts at 7 p.m., and Saturday afternoon tea begins at 2 p.m.

Serliana is at 17 W. Market Street, on the hotel’s second floor, reached by elevator or marble staircase. Open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., it serves breakfast, brunch and lunch until 2:30 p.m., a limited afternoon menu until 5 p.m., then dinner. Pricing is moderate; reservations and takeout are available, with afternoon tea booked as a separate reservation experience.
