Passione Wood Oven Pizza & Wings gives pizza night several directions: Roman, Neapolitan and Detroit styles all appear on the menu. The Detroit version layers a double portion of precooked toppings beneath shredded mozzarella, then finishes the pie with homemade sauce and Pecorino Romano. Diners repeatedly praise the pizza and its crust, with wings another recurring favorite.
The wings get their finish in the wood-fired oven and come in spicy barbecue, sweet chili, Buffalo or garlic Parmesan, with blue cheese or ranch alongside. For a different start, homemade baked ricotta combines whole-milk ricotta, Asiago and mozzarella with roasted garlic and spices. The Capresi salad brings fresh mozzarella, Roma tomatoes and basil together with extra-virgin olive oil and balsamic glaze.
Beyond pizza, the $23 Italian stromboli packs mortadella, capicola, Genoa salami, mozzarella and whipped seasoned ricotta with roasted peppers, onion and a drizzle of fig reduction. The $21 vegetable version uses sun-dried tomatoes, grilled eggplant, sautéed mushrooms and mozzarella; both come with marinara. Locally made gelato, offered in rotating flavors, provides a finish.
The cozy room takes its inspiration from Rome and Italy, and diners consistently mention friendly service. Beer and wine are served, outdoor seating is available, and pricing is moderate.
