While Devour Indy just ended, providing an uptick in foot traffic and sales for restaurants citywide, many in the black food community feel both underserved and underrepresented.

Answering the call for inclusion, registration is now open for Black Dolla Dining Days – a new restaurant week featuring black-owned restaurants that will run February 28 to March 6.

The new restaurant week is inspired by local Facebook group Black Dolla, which has more 30,000 members discussing and promoting black-owned businesses in Indianapolis with the mission of “expanding the black opportunity.”

For whatever reason, founder Carmen Davenport noticed over the last few years Devour Indy had little-to-no black representation.

Black Dolla Dining Days will be free to join for all registered food businesses including restaurants, bars, food trucks and even those offering delivery.
