A new Jamaican restaurant opened its doors today — Yaso Jamaican Grill. The Fountain Square location at 1501 Prospect St was previously home to Indy’s Rib Kitchen.
Yaso hopes to embody the Jamaican motto ‘Out of Many One People’ meaning we live under the belief that no matter one’s origin, hand-in-hand, everything is within reach, ultimately bringing people together.
The new Jamaican destination is closed on Monday’s but open 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday through Friday, Noon to 8:00 PM on Saturdays and Noon to 6:00 PM on Sundays.
The menu is inspired by the diverse roots of Jamaican cuisine with influences of the American crossroads with favorites like escovitch red snapper, jerk baby back ribs, oxtails and Jamaican patties.
Yaso will have weekly specials that include jerk pot roast, fricassee chicken, brown stew chicken, jerk chicken wings and fricassee chicken soup.
